review: spectre

Just call me Bond, James Bond.

Last week saw the release of widely anticipated 4th Daniel Craig outing as Mr Bond.

Synopsis: “A cryptic message from the past leads James Bond (Daniel Craig) to Mexico City and Rome, where he meets the beautiful widow (Monica Bellucci) of an infamous criminal. After infiltrating a secret meeting, 007 uncovers the existence of the sinister organization SPECTRE. Needing the help of the daughter of an old nemesis, he embarks on a mission to find her. As Bond ventures toward the heart of SPECTRE, he discovers a chilling connection between himself and the enemy (Christoph Waltz) he seeks.”

Verdict 4/5: With action and drama, Spectre offers everything expected from a James Bond film which slides into the franchise perfectly after 2012’s Skyfall. The only thing letting down this episode of 007 is the storyline, which can be described a rambling family reunion drowned out by a unbelievable love story, and lets not forget the bad guy who isn’t in most of the film. Still enjoyable to watch but definitely in the shadows of it’s predecessor.
