film review – doctor strange

Oh hey Mr. Cumberbatch, enjoying your new superhero life? Thought so.

Cumberbatch plays the lead role in the newest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film along side Chiwetel EjioforRachel McAdams and  Tilda Swinton.  Doctor Strange is the fourteenth film in the MCU and takes cinema-goers for a walk on the mystical side – a new side to the MCU which we haven’t yet seen …

Synopsis: “Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilising a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” [Credit IMDB]

Verdict 4/5: Marvels newest film is another home run for the franchise who’s latest score offers a different view on the MCU whilst making it fun for the audience. Acting, visual effects & direction are en-pointe but the film does lag half way though losing its way (probably getting lost in the mirror dimension)  – but overall an enjoyable & interesting watch – roll on Doctor Strange 2!
